The foam is very high quality and easy to cut through. But if you want to cut to a certain depth for different thickness items, forget about it. It is layered but it might as well be a solid piece of foam because it is impossible to separate. I just wasted $300. If you plan on cutting all the way through it it's great. If not, look elsewhere.
Great case for carrying my camera equipment. The team was super helpful in getting my order to me. The case has been battle tested before this review being checked in multiple flights with thousands worth of camera gear inside. Just throw on a couple of padlocks and the world is your oyster. Best case ever! So good I bought another larger one and still am considering more.

Replaced my over molded handle on my 1550 case from Black to Red to indicate it as my Trauma Kit.
Handle was very easy to replace by using a punch and a hammer to carefully drive the pins toward the center of the case. After the splines are out of the plastic the pins slide right out of the hinge tabs.
Very easy to reverse the process and install the new handle.
