TSA locking latches praised for easy installation and functionality. Customers said they're "super easy to install" and provide peace of mind while traveling. Most found installation straightforward, though some noted difficulty removing factory pins without proper tools. A few experienced lock mechanism failures after extended use. Overall, customers appreciate the low-profile design, quieter operation, and elimination of external locks.
These are alot quieter then the double throw latches that came with my pelican case. They work great and saves money from buying another lock n key. Love em
I would like to this will a spline channel block so it forces TSA to relock the latches
Works as advertised
I have a fleet of Pelican cases for my photography addiction. I highly recommend the Starrett S248PC Extra long pin punch set to remove the factory pins and install these new TSA latches. I use a 2.5 pound hammer to tap the pins. They come out quickly with the 1/8” punch. I use the 3/8” punch to set the new replacement pins that come with the TSA latches. Takes about a minute per latch.
Super easy to install, have used these for a few trips already, love that I dont have to have a additional lock hanging off the side of my 1535.
Do yourself a favor and buy a hammerless hinge pin tool that these people do not included otherwise you will destroy the soft plastic around the pin. This company would know that but refuse to include this essential item OR even instruct people on the right tool. "JuSt TaP ThE PiN OuT FrOm ThE ClEAn EnD".
First off, I love my Pelican Air cases, they've been with me on numerous trips abroad, especially the Middle East. It was just a no brainer to upgrade my gear. I've lost a handful of regular TSA locks when my cases travel. Aside from also upgrading to gun case TSA locks, this was just for my peace of mind. I was tired of carrying extra padlocks and even zipties because I knew there was always a chance that I would lose a lock somewhere. These have not been tested yet, but I'm sure they'll hold up.
The install was straightforward. Instead of using the hammer and punch method I went with a hammerless punch tool. It just depended on which way the pin was initially inserted that made the angle difficult for hammering away at it, hence the punch tool.
Thank you ColorCase. I know there are other things I could upgrade on my cases, so I'll definitely be a returning customer.
I heard about these latches through Deviant Ollman YouTube videos. I was intrigued and impressed. A surprise you guys have not taken action on doing the modification for this latch/lock. I’ll be willing to pay the extra 10 bucks maybe $20. I consider my rifles my precious tools to keep them safe. just wondering, what will it take for you guys to get on board to make that modification? You know if you take the proper measurements you might be able to at least get a 3-D printer version to retain the key.
I found this product through various YouTube videos. And I was intrigued. I bought a pair so it can fit on my pelican gun vault. If the company could just step up a little bit with a 3-D printer and make that lock key retention. Another words if you don’t understand what I’m saying is is that you can put the key in turn it, but you can’t pull the key out. it forces the TCA to Lock it it forces them to do their job.
Easy installation. Just got them, so will update my review after a few trips.
the case is incredible. Very functional and the customization makes it very beautiful. I just thought the TSA locker could be installed. But this does not detract from the product in any way.
Pelican Air TSA Locking Latches, Black, Push-Button (Set of 2 with Keys)
The TSA locking latches are extremely easy to add if your Pelican case does not have one and you need one for traveling. Although there are no instructions, the online video at Pelican can help but it's basically remove the pin and old latch. Then repeat the steps for the TSA lock....
This case is a great carry on case for my scuba regulators and computers.
Good product and easy installation
Added these to a carry on for some extra peace of mind while traveling. Nice upgrade.
I found these latches following a YouTube video from Dev. I purchased a set and upon arrival one of the latches did not work with a TSA key. This issue appeared to be from Pelican, not ColorCase. I emailed support and was told that they would be sending a replacement latch immediately. Installation per the instructions was hassle free. The latches have worked flawlessly. I would absolutely recommend both the product and the company and plan on purchasing more with future Pelican cases.
These let me skip the ziptie on my case when checking it. They fit the Air case and appear to work fine. Bummer that they are not combo locks. Now I have to keep track of the key.
Installation took a bit of whacking to get the old ones out. It would be wicked if they came with instructions or a link to a YouTube video on replacing them. Bonus if it came with a longer pin to use to knock out the old pins.
Pelican Air TSA Locking Latches, Black, Push-Button (Set of 2 with Keys)
Using these to replace non locking latches on 1615 aircase due to TSA losing/discarding my locks. These are the ones that come on 1615 travel aircase as standard.
These are great for adding "some" extra level of security to my case. It flies on the airlines a lot, and the latches themselves have held up well and look kind of cool. The lock on one latch failed after a year (I would guess less than 100 lock / unlock cycles) and became frozen in place- would not lock or unlock. ColorCase very kindly sent me a replacement and that one also failed within a few weeks. Several weeks later, the replacement for that one is still working well. Overall, would recommend. Install with a small center punch and hammer.
To install on your 1510, follow the official instructions and then mark each latch clasp with white paint or chalk, then close. You'll see that the latches mark about 1/8" of an inch on the bottom of the lower case catch. File or dremel that white mark off, making sure you have a sharp knife to trim off the resin that will get *everywhere*. Works like a charm.
Sturdy, much quieter than the double-latch that comes with the case, and no more bent or missing locks after going through a luggage carousel.
Color Case even pre installed these when I ordered them with my case. Great for travel security.
Several times I have gone to Color Case for needs and they are very helpful and always on time!
Excellent product. Works as it should.
Everything's great, except that USPS loses everything they touch.
Product arrived FAST and is perfect! Thank you!!
The latches work great! Smooth and quiet. The build quality is solid, I hope they will last a long time.
Is it possible to order two sets with the same key number. My wife and I both use 1615 cases and would prefer to only need one key for both. If so, how would I order them that way?

Nice quality. Easy to install. Fast shipping
I previously posted a not so great review before I really started shadowing my tools. I had started with the very bottom layer for big tools and I was frustrated because it was difficult to dig out the foam for such a large object. But as I did the other layers for my hand tools, it was much easier and turned out great. After doing 5 or 6 layers with of tools and having to do some more big items, I had learned some tricks along the way that made it but suck so bad. If you're doing a large section that is a couple inches deep, it's best to cut around the outside, obviously, and then make long cuts to make strips that are easier to take out and just peel out like a half inch at a time. Also it's best not to cut all the way down to the backing as the sheet will lose its rigidity, but if you have to, make sure the tool is parallel to the long side. I made this mistake with my socket rails. Because they're as thick as the foam I had to cut down to the backing but I did them perpendicular to the long side and now the sheet flexes a lot when I pick it up. Hopefully it will hold up after several times of picking it up but we'll see. Overall fantastic product!
Great case for carrying my camera equipment. The team was super helpful in getting my order to me. The case has been battle tested before this review being checked in multiple flights with thousands worth of camera gear inside. Just throw on a couple of padlocks and the world is your oyster. Best case ever! So good I bought another larger one and still am considering more.
Replaced my over molded handle on my 1550 case from Black to Red to indicate it as my Trauma Kit.
Handle was very easy to replace by using a punch and a hammer to carefully drive the pins toward the center of the case. After the splines are out of the plastic the pins slide right out of the hinge tabs.
Very easy to reverse the process and install the new handle.
Great OEM Pelican products and great to customize your case for style or color coding with purpose if needed.
After years getting used to the "noise" of my Pelicase now I finally purchased these wheels. They have been shiped to Switzerland and they come very fast. Ratio quality/price is very good.
The best case on the movie set
