Transform your Pelican 1595 Air into the ultimate heavy-duty mobile workstation. This DIY foam set allows you to create custom tool treys that provide professional organization, superior protection, and instant inventory management.
Professional Tool Control: Create a custom home for every tool. Build multi-layered treys to keep your gear organized and secure during transit.
High-Visibility Shadowing: The Red ABS plastic backing creates a "shadow" effect so you can tell at a glance if a tool is missing.
Industrial Strength: Each layer is backed by a rigid 1/4" Red ABS plastic sheet. Unlike standard foam inserts, these layers won't sag or flop when lifted, creating a firm, durable tool tray.
Precision Engineered: All foam and plastic pieces are precision die-cut specifically for the Pelican 1595 Air. The set includes rounded corners, hand-hole cutouts for easy lifting, and specialized wheel cutouts for a perfect drop-in fit.
High-Quality Materials: Features professional-grade 2lb black polyethylene foam—durable enough for daily use and travel.
Compatibility: Designed specifically for the Pelican 1595 Air Case (Case not included).
Total Weight: Approximately 13 lbs.
Material: 2lb Black Polyethylene Foam & 1/4" (approx.) Red ABS Hard Plastic.
What’s Included:
Base Layer: 1 Solid black foam bottom (2.00").
Middle Trays: 4 Solid black foam pieces (1.00" each) with adhesive backing.
Rigid Backing: 5 Red ABS plastic sheets for shadowing and structural support.
Lid Protection: 1 Convoluted "egg-crate" lid foam piece.
Layout & Trace: Arrange your tools on the black foam layers. Once you have the perfect layout, use a marker or pen to trace the outline of each tool.
Precision Cutting: Using a utility knife (a fresh, sharp blade is highly recommended), cut along your trace lines. To get the cleanest edges, use multiple shallow passes rather than trying to cut through the foam in one go.
Peel & Stick: Once your tool cutouts are complete, peel the adhesive backing from the foam layer. Carefully align it with the Red ABS plastic sheet.
Laminate: Press firmly across the entire surface of the foam to ensure a strong, permanent bond with the plastic board.
Final Assembly: Once laminated, you will have a series of firm, professional tool trays. Simply stack them into your Pelican 1595 Air to complete your mobile workstation.

I previously posted a not so great review before I really started shadowing my tools. I had started with the very bottom layer for big tools and I was frustrated because it was difficult to dig out the foam for such a large object. But as I did the other layers for my hand tools, it was much easier and turned out great. After doing 5 or 6 layers with of tools and having to do some more big items, I had learned some tricks along the way that made it but suck so bad. If you're doing a large section that is a couple inches deep, it's best to cut around the outside, obviously, and then make long cuts to make strips that are easier to take out and just peel out like a half inch at a time. Also it's best not to cut all the way down to the backing as the sheet will lose its rigidity, but if you have to, make sure the tool is parallel to the long side. I made this mistake with my socket rails. Because they're as thick as the foam I had to cut down to the backing but I did them perpendicular to the long side and now the sheet flexes a lot when I pick it up. Hopefully it will hold up after several times of picking it up but we'll see. Overall fantastic product!
Great case for carrying my camera equipment. The team was super helpful in getting my order to me. The case has been battle tested before this review being checked in multiple flights with thousands worth of camera gear inside. Just throw on a couple of padlocks and the world is your oyster. Best case ever! So good I bought another larger one and still am considering more.
Replaced my over molded handle on my 1550 case from Black to Red to indicate it as my Trauma Kit.
Handle was very easy to replace by using a punch and a hammer to carefully drive the pins toward the center of the case. After the splines are out of the plastic the pins slide right out of the hinge tabs.
Very easy to reverse the process and install the new handle.
Great OEM Pelican products and great to customize your case for style or color coding with purpose if needed.
After years getting used to the "noise" of my Pelicase now I finally purchased these wheels. They have been shiped to Switzerland and they come very fast. Ratio quality/price is very good.
The best case on the movie set
